Children who attend Fledglings will wear a school jumper, cardigan or fleece with black or grey jogging bottoms/leggings/shorts and a top/t-shirt of their choosing every day. Children must wear trainers or plimsolls with Velcro fastening so that they can be taken off and put back on independently. Children will also need a pair of named wellies that remain at pre-school.
Fledglings Pre-School have protective clothing for the children when they take part in messy play.

Please look out for the Fledglings signs which will direct you to the gate and buzzer which we will be using, this can be accessed via the main school’s Greenways entrance. The classroom door will open at 8:30am when the morning session begins. Your child will be greeted by a member of staff, we ask parents/ carers to say goodbye to their child at the door to ensure a safe and settled start to our day. Your child will be supported by a staff member to put away their belongings. If your child only attends afternoon sessions, we will greet you at the classroom door at 12:30pm. When you arrive to collect your child once their session has ended, we will buzz you in through the gate and meet you at the classroom door for collection.
If your child is staying for 'lunch club', you may provide them with a packed lunch. Alternatively you could order your child a hot meal at an additional cost. Please take a look at our hot meals menu at the bottom of this page. Lunches are freshly cooked in our school kitchen. If your child has a food allergy, please add information to your the requested forms once you have registered and we will be in touch to discuss arrangements to cater for them.
We will provide your child with a healthy mid-morning/afternoon snack. If your child has specific dietary needs, please make sure we know via your Arbor information. Cool Milk: Free milk is available for all under-fives, and this will be arranged by us. Please speak to us if your child requires special milk.
Your child will have a Key Worker who is responsible for ensuring your child has a smooth transition to pre-school. All of Fledglings Pre-School staff work very closely with each other and will know all of the children well. It may not be your child’s key worker who greets you every day. Once your child has settled, we will soon let you know who your child’s keyworker is.
Once settled, your child will be set up with a Tapestry account where you can see a snapshot view of your child’s learning. Most communication home will be done through Tapestry so please ensure you sign up. A link will be sent to you once your child has started pre-school.
