  • British Values

At Highcliffe St Marks Primary School, we are proud to promote British Values alongside our Christian Values of Respect, Compassion and Courage. These values help us to grow not only as learners, but as kind, responsible members of our community.

The fundamental British Values are Democracy, the Rule of Law, Individual Liberty, and Mutual Respect and Tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs. We teach children that everyone has a voice and that their opinions matter. Through school councils and class discussions, pupils learn about democracy by voting and sharing their ideas. They understand that rules are important because they keep us safe and help our school to be a happy place where everyone can learn.

Our Christian Values strengthen and enrich these principles. Respect encourages us to treat others as we would like to be treated, valuing every person as unique and special. Compassion teaches us to care for those in need, to show kindness, and to support one another in times of difficulty. Courage inspires us to stand up for what is right, to persevere when learning is challenging, and to make good choices even when it is hard.

Together, British Values and our Christian Values help to create a school community where everyone feels safe, valued and inspired to be the very best they can be.
