Highcliffe St Mark Primary School
Curriculum Vision Statement
Intent
Rooted in our Christian values of respect, courage and compassion, our curriculum is designed to unlock the potential of every child. We aim to provide a high-quality, inclusive education that secures strong foundations in reading, writing, speaking, listening and maths, while nurturing children’s spiritual, moral, social, cultural, emotional and physical development. Our curriculum reflects our local context and prepares children to thrive as confident, compassionate citizens in modern Britain.
Implementation
Leaders at all levels continually refine the curriculum to ensure ambition, coherence and progression. Learning is knowledge-rich, explorative and engaging, brought to life through real-world experiences, visits, visitors and strong community links. Carefully planned assessment identifies progress and gaps, enabling timely academic and emotional support. Pupil voice informs curriculum enrichment, and opportunities are planned to develop language, independence, resilience and interpersonal skills. Our local environment and global responsibilities shape meaningful learning experiences.
Impact
Children leave Highcliffe St Mark as articulate, curious and resilient learners with secure core skills and a love of learning. They demonstrate strong personal values, respect for others, and an understanding of their role in caring for their community and the wider world. Well-prepared for the next stage of education, our pupils are confident, reflective and ready to contribute positively to a diverse society.
