Homework

Friday 9th July

Maths

Enjoy the Mathletics Challenges and Quests.  They are about units of measure this week.  The Quests are about reflection and translation to recap our last unit.  Don't forget to keep your timestables refreshed with TT Rockstars!!  Who will be on the leader board this week?

Reading

Enjoy your book!  How many quizzes have you done on Bug Club? Are you reading a different genre?  Have you tried to find some nonsense poems to read?  Have a search at home to check for any of our school reading books or 'Love of Reading' books that could be lurking under the sofa.  We would love to have them back.

English

Have a go at writing your own nonsense poem.  It can be about ANYTHING!!  I wonder if we will be able to guess what it is about?  Use the guide below to help you.

Nonsense Poem Guide

Friday 2nd July

Maths

Spend some time on your latest Times Tables Rock Stars battles - try to spend a short amount of time (10-15 minutes) regularly throughout the week.

We have also set challenges on Mathletics for you to attempt.

Reading

Please read three times during the next week, preferably on BugClub so that we can track your progress. If possible, practice reading aloud with expression to an adult.

ART

We are taking part in a school time capsule project aiming to help children reflect on their experiences and encourage a sense of togetherness within our school community, by creating something to mark the end of an extraordinary year.

We would love you to get creative with paint, chalk, pens, clay, scrap paper, cameras – and draw, sculpt, paint or photograph your experiences.  Perhaps you could:

• Paint or draw a memory you have from the past year

• Take, or draw, a self-portrait of you in this moment in time

• Create a collage

Please upload a photo of your creation onto Teams.  Thank you!

Topic

This week, we had a fantastic virtual session on fire safety. We have been sent a home fire safety check form to help you consider a plan for keeping your family safe at home. Please download and print the attached form and take some time to go through and discuss it with your family. We hope you find this activity useful and interesting - hopefully your training session will allow you to start some interesting and informative discussions.

Also, make sure you check that your smoke alarms have batteries!
