The Town Mouse and The Country Mouse
We had the pleasure of Martin the Puppetman coming in to perform The Town Mouse and The Country Mouse.
It was absolutely fantastic!
When back in class we were inspired to make our own stick puppets, draw scenes from the performance, write about our favourite parts of the tale and even recreated the set itself.
As part of our topic, we were learning about the streets where we live.
We researched Highcliffe and what buildings, services and amenities we have here.
Then we set about the task of collaboratively planning our own towns, imagining we were looking down on them to see the layout. We then pieced the different towns together using our reasoning skills to think where the beach and sea would be, how roads linked up, where houses were and even an isolated bit of water was transformed into a marina!
Here are some snippets of the amazing collaborative learning!
